Urological Science is a publication of Taiwan Urological Association; however, we are pleased to receive manuscripts not only from East Asia but also from all over the world. In this issue, we have papers from Taiwan, Japan, USA, Iran, and Iraq.
Diversity is very important in research. The variety of interdisciplinary studies from many countries can give readers broader ideas of how they should pursue their studies.
This issue has very interesting articles: The importance of the circulating tumor cells, prevention of the growth of urinary stones by administering asafetida to rats, indications for ureteropyeloscopy in the detection of upper urinary tract carcinoma, comparison of 3-arm and 4-arm robot-assisted retroperitoneoscopic partial nephrectomy, whether sling incision is sufficient for lower urinary tract symptoms, and penile erection hardness may serve as an early-stage marker for atherosclerosis. The letters to the editor and the reply suggested that researchers are interested in the work published in this journal.
We welcome papers on basic and clinical studies in urology, as providing practical and timely scientific information to physicians and researchers practicing urology is the aim of this journal. Ethical and social issues such as cultural differences in the field of urology with clinical implications and scientific interest can give our journal more cultural diversity.
