Dear Colleagues,
I would like to appreciate Prof. Stephen Shei-Dei Yang for his outstanding contribution to Urological Science as the Editor-in-Chief for more than 4 years. The Editorial team of Urological Science has a little change to make broader input from the international experts of urology. We hope that the academic quality of Urological Science will be on the horizon of progress and improvement.
The enclosed articles in this issue span basic science, functional urology, uro-oncology, robotic surgery, and pediatric urology. Furthermore, the impact of COVID-19 on the referral pattern for urology was addressed.
Chancellor and Lamb presented a critical review on a “Validated Diagnostic Test with Machine Learning Algorithm for Interstitial Cystitis” followed by a comment from Kuo as “A Step toward Precision Diagnosis of Interstitial Cystitis.” Furthermore, Veale analyzed the “Associations of Genital-Normalizing Surgery and Assigned Gender in Predicting Gender Outcomes from 58 Academic Articles.” Chuang et al. reported the outcome of “Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection using Indocyanine Green Fluorescence Lymphangiography in Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy for Nonlymph Node or Distant Metastasis Prostate Cancer Patients.” Consequently, Ong et al. assessed the “Impact of Population Lockdown on the Referral Pattern for Urology in a COVID-19 Designated Tertiary Hospital in Malaysia.” Mai et al. summarized a single-center experience of using “R.E.N.A.L. Nephrometry and Preoperative Aspects and Dimensions for Perioperative Outcomes in Renal Tumor Beyond 4 cm Underwent Minimally Invasive Partial Nephrectomy.” Moreover, Sangkhathat et al. reported a rare congenital disorder of “CYP17A1 Compound Heterozygous Mutations in a 46, XY Child with Disorders of Sexual Development.” In addition, Chiang et al. evaluated “Penile Erectile Function after Nerve-sparing Radical Prostatectomy (RP) Based on Evidence from a Rat Model.”
We hope that you find these articles as updates of your knowledge of urology.
