  About the TUA
Taiwan Urological Association (TUA) was established in 1978, located in Taipei Taiwan, and originally named as "The Republic of China Urological Association". It has been renamed to Taiwan Urological Association since August 2002 and abbreviated to TUA

There are 21 directors and 7 supervisors in TUA, among whom the selected legal representative of TUA is in charge of affairs in TUA; moreover, TUA now has over 1,000 members and residents. TUA aims to improve the standard treatment and research of Urology, to encourage members to share research experience, and to build the relationship with international urological associations that TUA members interact most, such as EAU, AUA, and SIU. TUA is an important member inside Asia, particularly the Urological Association of Asia (UAA). TUA has more and more interactions with urological association and experts within East and South-East Asian countries in the last ten years.

With the efforts of all urological physicians in Taiwan, TUA has turned out to be the medical network with powerful function and rapid expansion; meanwhile, it also has the capability of enhancing the right and interests of urological physicians in Taiwan and the world.
  About the Journal

Urological Science is a multispecialty journal of urology and invites manuscripts from researchers in the different fields of urology. Urological Science serves as a platform for researchers in basic and clinical urology, and up-to-date information related to daily practice of urology. Readers and researchers all around the world are welcome.

Urological Science invites scientific submission in the following categories: Original Research (Basic and Clinical Science), Evidence Based/Systematic Reviews Articles, Letter to Editor (Case Reports, Correspondence), and Short Communications.

The journal respects the scientific submission of its authors and believes in following a careful double-blind peer review process to pick up high quality papers and endeavors to complete the review process within scheduled time frame. A significant effort from the author and the journal perhaps enables to strike an equilibrium to meet the professional expectations of the peers in the world of scientific publication. Urological Science believes in safeguarding the privacy rights of human subjects. In order to comply with it, the journal instructs all authors when uploading the manuscript to also add the ethical clearance (human/animals)/ informed consent of subjects in the manuscript. This applies to the study/case report that involves animal/human subjects/human specimens e.g. extracted tooth part/soft tissue for biopsy/in vitro analysis.

This is an open access journal, and articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Digital Archiving

Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS.

Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website.

CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware.

Ahead of Print policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.

Advertisements

While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content:

  • "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
  • The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
  • Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.

  Scope of the journal

The journal will cover basic and clinical science related to health, ethical and social issues in field of urology:  Articles with scientific interest and clinical implications will be given preference.
